Availability of Precut Kits | Getting kits before Christmas

Our friend James Floyd Kelly did a really nice writeup / review of our new OpenBeam precut kits that ended up on the front page of Wired.com's GeekDad section today: Image

For those of you who are looking to buy a kit and receive it before Christmas, here's the latest stocking information.

Our Precut Starter kit is available at both the OpenBeam webstore in black and clear anodize, as well as from our friends at Adafruit.  If you live on the east coast, you would be better served buying it from Adafruit, as we primarily ship via Fedex Ground here at OpenBeam.  If you are local to Seattle, please buy the kit from Metrix:Create Space, as they have it for $80.00 plus tax - and you will be supporting a valuable local technical resource.  This kit is relatively new to  our inventory and has not been released outside the US at this time, so, sorry Canadian and Australian friends.  We will start limited international shipping of precut kits after the new year.

Our standard precut kits are only available at Metrix:Create Space and on our webstore.  Unfortunately the webstore software does not allow me to just set a price for shipping (that would have been too easy).  If you would like to add brackets or nut drivers to your kit, it would screw up the shipping charges.  I will refund unused shipping charges via paypal.  I'm sorry, but that's the best I can do right now.  (We are in the queue to get UPC exemption on Amazon.com, I cannot wait to get my stuff listed there).  Our dealer in Canada, Solarbotics.com, also have a few precut kits in stock.  Because of the lack of availability of our precut kit from our US based dealers, at our discretion, we may elect to upgrade the shipping method for the shipping inclusive kits to Fedex Express Saver to enable kits ordered by Wednesday noon (Pacific time) to reach our clients for Christmas.

We will be cranking out more and more of these kits (and then resume our production on the Kossel 3D Printer kits, as well as a few exciting new 3D Printer kits) during and after the holiday season.  Thank you for your patience in working with us!
